National Customer Service Week WOW! Customer Service Recognition
is celebrated October 6-12 2009. It was started to raise awareness of the importance of treating your customers well in order to increase and maintain business, as well as to recognize those people who work in customer service.
Step 1
Start with your own company by offering Certificates of Appreciation to the employees working in customer service. National Customer Service Week's official logo is a puzzle piece, so you can create a theme around that. You can also throw a small party using a theme (red and blue are the colors of customer service) or have gifts or prizes involving the topic of public satisfaction.
Step 2
Send special "thank you" cards to your customers. If you don't have direct interaction with the public, consider a newsletter and hold a drawing for a gift to those already in your data base or those who subscribe during that week.
Step 3
Organize a motivational seminar or workshop for your employees and focus not only on how to improve customer service, but also on techniques to reduce stress and make their jobs easier. Provide a lunch and a gift drawing for those in attendance. The less stressed they are, the better service they will be able to provide to consumers.
Step 4
Follow these five pillars of customer service: host a celebration, interact with coworkers, host contests or competitions, connect with customers and focus on employee training. By addressing both sides of the customer service issue (providers and consumers), you are more likely to achieve positive results.
Halloween Safety Tips For Kids
Dog
There are many ways to keep your child safe at Halloween. The excitement of children and adults at this time of year sometimes makes them forget to be careful. Simple common sense can do a lot to stop many accidents from happening.
  • Help your child pick out or make a costume that will be safe. Make it fire resistant and the eye holes should be large enough as to not hinder there vision.
  • If you have jack-o-lanterns with candles in them, make sure that they are far enough out of the way so that kids costumes won't accidentally be set on fire.
  • Make sure that if your child is carrying a prop, such as a scythe, butcher knife or a pitchfork, that the tips are smooth and flexible enough to not cause injury to them or others.
  • Treating your kids to a special Halloween dinner just before the go out will make them less likely to eat the candy they collect before you have a chance to check it for them.
  • Teaching your kids basic everyday safety such as not getting into cars. going into homes or talking to strangers, watching both ways before crossing streets and crossing when the lights tell you to, will help make them safer when they are out Trick or Treating.
Make Halloween a fun, safe and happy time for your kids and they'll carry on the tradition that you taught them to your grand children some day!
